Last night, Lee and I went went back to the Mud Oven in Ottawa to complete our pieces (if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you can catch the whole story in this post). We spent another 1.5 hours there putting the finishing details on our pieces.
Lee worked on coloring the beak, the feet and the wings of her owl first.
Then, using the color pens provided, she added many details to make her little owl come to life.
On my side, I used a stencil to trace a flower shape onto my yarn bowl (don’t worry the pencil markings disappear during the firing).
Then, I went over it with the color pens as well as added a dotted line along the rim and the edge of the bowl.
We are both so very excited and quite nervous to see how they turn! The next time we see our pieces, in a week from yesterday, they will have been glazed and fired in the kiln. Fingers crossed they look good!
We’ll be sure to post the final pieces here once we pick them up (:
